Our school took part in the Big Friendly Guide to European Union Project, which aims at developing awareness, knowledge and debate at Primary School level on the European Union and Ireland’s role within it. As part of the programme we had a visit from Emanuelle Schon Quinlivan a UCC lecturer on politics. She played Tables Champ quiz with the children based on flags of the European Union. The children had a chance to show off their impressive knowledge of the current issues relating to the E.U, such as Brexit and Migration etc. As part of the programme the school received a plaque in recognition for the school’s participation in the project. Unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions we were unable to attend the Award Ceremony UCC in April and we will look forward to receiving the award on our return to school in August 2020.
