The Great Island First Responders came to the school on Thursday 16th October for ‘Restart a Heart Day’.
The Great Island First Responders are a group of Community based trained volunteers who respond to Emergency 999/122 calls for serious medical issues such as Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack, Stroke, chest pain and choking within the community.

They respond to Emergency calls on behalf of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to treat patients whilst an Ambulance is making its way to the scene to offer more advanced treatment to the patient, if necessary, as with certain conditions time is of the essence.

This is a community-based group, who rely heavily on donations from the local community in order to purchase lifesaving equipment such as AED’S and training equipment to keep their members up to date with the NAS training requirements.

On Friday 24th October we will have a Halloween dress up fundraiser to support this worthy cause.
