Cobh Mixed National School would like to welcome back all their students to school. Lock down was a very difficult time for students but we are very proud of them all and how well they co-operated with their teachers during the last few months.  We would like to acknowledge the hard work of teachers and staff of the school and would like to thank all parents for their co-operation it was greatly appreciated.

Monday: On Monday we had an Easter Egg hunt in the school grounds. The eggs were so well hidden even Valerie forgot where some of them were and had to resort to her list of hiding places! We also played some Easter P.E. games and had an Easter Scavenger Hunt. Everyone was delighted going home with their well-earned Easter Egg.

Tuesday: On Tuesday we did orienteering around the school grounds. The children were put into teams where they had to read and follow a map of the school grounds. Each team had to find 20 spots on the map, answer questions and collect a piece of jigsaw along the way.

The children had great fun finding different clues and showed great teamwork. Well done to Ellen and Lorcan who were the first team to complete the orienteering and assemble their jigsaw. We were so proud of everyone and they all went home with yet another easter egg.

Thursday: We watched a webinar of a man who was gardening on a rooftop in Cork. He had chickens too and bees (30,000). He had grow towers with no soil but plants in water and fertilizer. After that we planted our own vegetables in pots which included beetroot, salad leaves and radishes etc. We enjoyed our growing and are looking forward to seeing them grow.
